Bagasse Bagasse is a fibrous
residue remaining after sugar cane stalks are crushed to extract their
juice, and is currently used as a renewable resource in the manufacture
of pulp and paper products and building materials. After the sugar cane
is juiced, the use of the fiber waste provides a value-added product
from what is generally considered a waste product. When sugar cane
fiber is turned into products normally made from paper, an additional
benefit is the elimination of the pollution from the normal burning of
the pulp.
Sugar cane fiber is similar to any other fibrous garden waste that
readily composts, and normally biodegrades within 30-90 days. For
single-use products, it provides an environmentally sustainable
alternative to traditional paper disposables.

Bamboo Bamboo is the fastest-growing known plant on Earth; it has been measured surging skyward as fast as 121 cm (48 in) in a 24-hour period, and can also reach maximal growth rate exceeding one meter (39 inches) per hour for short periods of time.
Unlike trees, all bamboo has the potential to grow to full height and girth in a single growing season of 3–4 months.
